Kent Schrader is a Loan Officer in the Fredericksburg, Virginia office of Assurance Financial. He became a charter team member with the initial establishment of the branch in December 2016. He has been in the mortgage industry since 2015 and in lending for over 35 years. He is licensed through the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry in Virginia.
Kent has been a Virginia resident since he was 10 years old and received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Virginia Tech. He is married and has eight children.
Prior to becoming a mortgage lender, Kent enjoyed over 30 years as a commercial banker, primarily in business and commercial real estate lending. In his banking role, he also taught college-level banking courses as an instructor for the American Institute of Banking for over 20 years.
Currently Kent serves in several capacities in his church, is a member and past president of the Caroline Rotary Club, is a Loan Committee member for the Rappahannock Economic Development Authority which provides commercial real estate financing, and is a Boy Scout leader.
In his free time, Kent enjoys meteorology, antique cars, building computers, and snow skiing in addition to spending time with his children and grandchildren. He and his wife Judy are foster parents and have been for 19 years, providing foster care for over 60 children since 1998.

His professional experience with business finance makes him especially suited to helping self-employed borrowers find the best financing options.
